Leith Hill Oil Drilling
Friday 15 September 2017

The attached has been sent to Gerry Risbridger by the Mole Valley Cycling Forum:

Having seen the large number of bikes, MTB, road and leisure,  that use Leith Hill area and Coldharbour Lane in particular I wondered if it would be appropriate to get Bike 50 involved?  The contents of the attached came as a surprise to me.  Could the membership be made aware of the situation?

“You are no doubt aware of the plans to drill for oil on Leith Hill.  The proposals to move heavy equipment up to the site will have a significant impact upon traffic movements in Coldharbour Lane, and this would in turn impact the safety of cyclists.  Attendees at the Forum have drafted a letter (attached) which you may find useful in drafting your own submission which needs to arrive before 13th September* when the Traffic Management Scheme is next discussed by Surrey County Council's Planning Committee.

The email addresses to send your comments on this matter are: MWCD@surreycc.gov.uk , the case officer Samantha.murphy@surreycc.gov.uk and the chairman of the Planning and Regulatory Committee tim.hall@surreycc.gov.uk  quoting SCC Ref 2017/0027.”
